Led by 33rd generation Ivorian musician Adama Dembele, the music of Zansa, a Nouchi slang word from Ivory Coast meaning “combination” or “blend,” is a synthesis of traditional and modern styles of West Africa. The 5-piece band, based out of Asheville, visits Studio B this Friday in advance of a CD release show in Asheville on the 7th.
